TV For Seniors has told you about the best tech deals for seniors during the Walmart Fall Deals sale and the Amazon Big Deals Days event. Now we give you the top 10 Best Buy tech deals during its Techtober sale. (The sale is available online and at Best Buy retail stores although prices may differ.)
Best Buy’s Techtober sale runs through Sunday, October 11. And these 10 deals are the ones that can truly help seniors solve real problems: a small TV picture, muddy dialogue, a complicated remote, and tech gear that is hard (no, impossible!) to set up.
The 10 Best October Tech Deals at Best Buy for Seniors
The full sale is at Best Buy’s Top Deals page. And the prices below were checked on the morning of October 6, 2026. But be aware that prices can change and some sizes sell out. Look at the price in your cart before you buy. My Best Buy membership is free and includes free shipping. Store pickup is free where the item is in stock. No coupon code.
I skipped the gaming laptops and party speakers. These are the deals that make the TV easier to see, the dialogue easier to hear, and streaming easier to start. So, let’s go!
1. Insignia 55-inch 4K Fire TV — $179.99 (was $349.99)
The simplest upgrade on the list. Fire TV is built in so Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube (subscription may be required) are on the remote the day it arrives. You do not need a separate streaming stick. Closed captions are in the settings menu, and you can make them larger. Picture quality is basic, not premium. But at less than $200, it is a good bedroom set, or a replacement for an old HDTV that has gotten dim.
2. TCL 55-inch QM6K Mini-LED 4K TV — $499.99 (was $799.99)
This set is a clear step up if your living room is particularly bright. The Mini-LED holds contrast better when the lamps are on which helps when watching sports. And the $300 discount is a great October deal. Senior Pro Tip: Turn on the TV’s “clear voice” or dialogue setting the first night. That one switch fixes more audio/dialogue complaints than a new soundbar.
3. LG 55-inch B6 OLED — $799.99 ($600 off)
My personal favorite TV model. This LG OLED is the set to look at if you watch TV after dark. Blacks stay black so faces and captions do not wash out on screen. The B6E is LG’s entry OLED for 2026, and $800 for 55 inches is a price that usually waits for Black Friday. LG’s menu has straightforward controls for captions and audio description. Worth seeing in the store next to a regular LED before you decide. You will be amazed.
4. LG 65-inch C6 OLED — $1,499.99 (was $2,699.99)
Okay, we’re getting pricey here. But the 65-inch LG OLED is $1,200 off. And with a 65-inch OLED, the score and the faces get easier to read from a normal couch. This is a lot of money, so measure the stand or the wall first, and pick it up if you can. A set this size is easier to inspect in the store than to send back from the porch.
5. LG 75-inch Class 91A QNED Mini-LED — $999.99 (was $1,999.99)
This monster-size TV is half off and the screen is the point. If the complaint is “I cannot read it,” size beats fancy features. QNED is LG’s brighter Mini-LED line, so it arguably holds up better than OLED in a sunny room. A 75-inch set is wide. Check the wall and the doorway before you order. And make sure your stand will fit the set before you buy!
6. Roku Streaming Stick HD — $19.99 (was $39.99)
The easiest streamer for a TV that does not have apps or for a stick that has gotten slow. Roku’s home screen is still the one most people learn fastest. The remote has a voice button if typing a show title is a chore. And at $20, it is also a cheap spare for the bedroom. Captions are one menu deep. Easy to use.
7. Roku Streaming Stick Plus (4K) — $34.99 (was $59.99)
Same simple Roku menu with 4K if the TV supports it. Buy this one if the set is already 4K and you only need the apps. The Roku mobile app can play the audio in headphones, which is useful when someone else is asleep.
8. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus — $37.99 (was $69.99)
The better stick if you already use Amazon’s Alexa digital voice assistant or watch a lot of Prime Video. The remote can raise and lower the TV volume on most sets, so you are not hunting for a second clicker. Ask Alexa to turn on captions if the menus are hard to find.

9. Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones — about $198 (was $399.99)
Half off, and this is the deal if the room fights with the dialogue. Air conditioners, street noise, and a loud household all drop back once these are on. Battery life is long enough that you are not charging them every night. Sony’s app has a voice setting if speech still sounds muddy. One note: I own these headphones and they sound fantastic with great outside noise suppression. But the on/off button is a little hard to find; it’s hidden on the inside of the left cup of the headphones. You’ll get to use it but it will might take several uses before you do.

10. Apple 11-inch iPad (128GB) — $399 (was $449)
Fifty dollars off the current base iPad. For a lot of readers this can replace the laptop: video calls with the grandkids, news, recipes, and a YouTube show in the kitchen. Text can be made as large as you want, and the accessibility menu has a magnifier, larger buttons, and captions on video. Pair it with a cheap case. Skip the keyboard unless you also answer email on it. Senior Pro Tip: Looking for a Xmas gift for the kid or grandkid in college? This would be ideal.
Final Notes
– Before you buy: Check the cart price. Best Buy is not offering rain checks, and the good sizes go first. If you can pick a TV up, do that. Joining My Best Buy is free and gets you free shipping if you would rather have it delivered.
– The day the set arrives, turn on closed captions and raise the dialogue or “clear voice” setting. Those two steps solve more “I cannot hear it” problems than another gadget.
– Techtober ends Sunday night. On any TV over $500, check Amazon the same day. A few of these prices may be matched there or be even lower.
