Amazon Prime Video New Releases September 2026:
The streaming service will add 123 new TV shows and movies in September 2026. The new additions include a diverse mix of classic films, live sports and Amazon original series. TV For Seniors has scanned the Amazon aisles and picked the three best new Amazon titles for older viewers:

Who’s In It: Kevin Kline, Laura Linney, Jon Tenney
What Kind of Show: Comedy/Drama (8 episode series)
When Can You Watch: September 1
Kevin Kline (Dave, The Big Chill) stars as a narcissistic Broadway star who retreats to his small hometown after a messy meltdown and decides to save the local theater by appearing in a new play. The eight-episode series, which first aired on MGM+ in March, is a sweet swan song for the 78-year-old Kline, one of our most underrated actors, and the strong supporting cast includes the great Laura Linney as his wife. Rotten Tomatoes gives American Classic a score of 94 based on 18 reviews.

When Can You Watch: September 1
If you’re over 60, you might remember the classic David Frost/Richard Nixon interviews from 1977 during which the British raconteur grilled the former president on the Watergate scandal, among other delicate subjects. Well, Frost/Nixon, the 2009 movie, is a riveting and thought-provoking political drama that masterfully recreates that intense showdown. Directed by Ron Howard, the film delves into the tense interviews that took place just three years after Nixon’s resignation, capturing the power struggle and vulnerability of both men as they battle for control of the narrative. Michael Sheen’s remarkable portrayal of Frost and Frank Langella’s Oscar-nominated performance as Nixon bring depth and authenticity to their characters, elevating the film to a gripping exploration of ambition, redemption, and the pursuit of truth.

Who’s In It: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie
What Kind of Movie: Drama
When Can You Watch: September 25
Director Quentin Tarantino’s love letter to the tie-dyed Hollywood of the late 1960s stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a fading TV star who yearns to stay relevant amid the changing culture. Brad Pitt plays his loyal stunt man/best pal and Margot Robbie is Sharon Tate, the beautiful and ill-fated ingenue. The story of Hollywood chewing up and spitting out actors they no longer have use for is evergreen and the three leads are sensational. Tarantino also masterfully weaves in a plot about the Manson Family which culminates in a gripping finale. This is the director’s best work since Pulp Fiction (and that’s a high bar) and older viewers will particularly enjoy the film’s recreation of the Hollywood scene in the 60s.
