Can Out-Of-Market Fans Watch MLB’s Team.TV $99 Plans? (Reds, Nationals, Brewers, Etc.)

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!

TV Answer Man, I am a little confused about the new MLB TV plans with individual teams. For example, I live in North Carolina but I am a former Wisconsin resident. Can I subscribe to the Brewers.TV plan for $99 and watch my Brewers? Or do I need to pay the $149.99 for the MLB TV out of market plan? Please help. – Ashley, New Bern, North Carolina.

Ashley, you are not alone in your confusion regarding where to watch your favorite MLB team during the 2026 season. With nine MLB teams leaving FanDuel Sports Network to be part of MLB TV’s streaming network, many fans have no clue what channel or service to subscribe to before the season begins late this month.

Here’s the simple answer:

Major League Baseball this season will stream the games of 21 different teams:

Arizona Diamondbacks (Dbacks.TV)^
Athletics (Athletics.TV)*
Baltimore Orioles (MASN+)*
Cincinnati Reds (Reds.TV)^
Cleveland Guardians (CLEGuardians.TV)^
Colorado Rockies (Rockies.TV)^
Detroit Tigers (TBA)^
Kansas City Royals (Royals.TV)^
Los Angeles Angels (Angels.TV)
Los Angeles Dodgers (SNLA+)*
Miami Marlins (Marlins.TV)^
Milwaukee Brewers (Brewers.TV)^
Minnesota Twins (Twins.TV)^
New York Mets (SNY)*
Philadelphia Phillies (Phillies.TV)*
St. Louis Cardinals (Cardinals.TV)^
San Diego Padres (Padres.TV)^
San Francisco Giants (Giants.TV)*
Seattle Mariners (Mariners.TV)^
Tampa Bay Rays (Rays.TV)^
Washington Nationals (Nationals.TV)^

The remaining nine MLB teams will also be available via streaming on different services, such as the New York Yankees (Gotham) Chicago Cubs (Marquee) and Boston Red Sox (NESN).

For most of the teams available on the MLB app, the cost will be $99 for the entire season. Some teams, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers ($199 for the season) are charging higher prices.

You can subscribe to the team.tv plan for $99 (or higher) but you have to be in market. For example, Ashley, if you live in North Carolina, you cannot subscribe to the Brewers.TV plan. You would be blacked out in your new home market in New Bern, North Carolina. But if you lived in Milwaukee, you could subscribe.

However, there is good news for you. MLB TV also has a single team out-of-market plan for $99. (A few teams charge $129. You can see the list of teams and prices here.) So instead of trying to subscribe to Brewers.TV, you need to subscribe to the Brewers out-of-market plan. The price, $99, is the same.

This applies to every MLB team. You need to live in the market of the team to subscribe to its in-market streaming service. However you have the option to watch each team via the MLB single team out-of-market plan.

Last point: The odds are good that cable and satellite operators such as Comcast and DIRECTV will add the ex-FanDuel Sports Network teams by Opening Day. So if your team was formerly on FanDuel, and you subscribe to a major cable or satellite operator, you might want to wait before shelling out that $99. The team’s games will probably be added to your pay TV service in the next three weeks or so.

Ashley, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
