Peacock Just Raised Prices – Here’s How to Watch It For Free Or Cheap

Peacock Just Raised Prices

Peacock just raised prices. The streamer’s ad-supported Premium plan now costs $12.99 a month, up from $10.99 a month. And the Premium Plus plan, which does not include ads, is now $19.99 a month, an increase of $3 a month. Even the basic Select package rose a $1 to $8.99 a month.

How to Watch Peacock For Free Or Cheaper

But here at TV For Seniors, we don’t believe in paying full price for streaming. So here are some ways that you can watch Peacock for free or at a reduced rate.

Walmart Plus/AARP Membership

The best way for seniors is the Walmart Plus plan coupled with an AARP membership. (If you don’t already have an AARP membership, it costs $15 a year for the first year.) This enables you to get $40 off an annual Walmart Plus plan which includes either Paramount Plus Essential or Peacock Premium for free. That reduces the annual price of Walmart Plus to $58 (normal price: $98.)

The annual Walmart Plus plan includes free shipping of Walmart purchases (among other benefits) and a one year subscription to either Paramount Essential (with ads) or Peacock Premium (with ads.) (You get to choose which streamer to get; you can change every 90 days.)

The Peacock Premium plan is now $129.99 a year so you could save roughly $72 by getting Walmart Plus now instead of subscribing directly to Peacock Premium for a year. If you are not already a AARP member, throw in the $15 membership fee and you would still save $57.

Instacart+

Instacart+ works pretty much the same way. After a short trial, the plan costs $99 a year and includes a full year of Peacock Premium. You also get free grocery delivery and other perks so the streaming alone often pays for the membership.

Xfinity Internet

Xfinity customers now have a few options to get Peacock for free or cheaper thanks to Comcast owning both Xfinity and Peacock. The Xfinity NOW TV plan, which costs $20 a month, includes Peacock Premium for free. And Xfinity offers Peacock as a free benefit for two years with higher-priced Internet plans including 1 GIG.

Spectrum TV

Spectrum TV Select packages include Peacock Premium for free for eligible subscribers. To watch Peacock via Spectrum, you will need use the Xumo Stream Box or another Peacock-supported device and download the Peacock app from the app store. Then, you input your Spectrum TV user name and password.

Apple TV/Peacock Bundle

If you already pay for Apple TV, which is $12.99 a month, the Apple TV/Peacock Premium bundle drops the combined price to $14.99 a month (at least for now. Let’s see if they raise it soon.) as opposed to buying them separately which would be $25.98.

Students/Military/Health Care/Teachers

We have lamented here before that there is no special Peacock discount for seniors (except for the AARP membership.) But special discounts for Peacock Premium are available for verified students ($5.99 a month) military personnel, teachers, healthcare workers, and first responders ($6.99 a month.) As of this afternoon, the discounted rates are still available.

Hope that helps! Happy viewing and stay safe!
