The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC and The CW tonight (January 7, 2026) will add 16 shows and episodes. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion. (All Times Eastern.)
Harlan Coben’s Final Twist (Premiere)
Where to Watch: CBS
When to Watch: 10 p.m.
Who’s In It: Harlan Coben
Best-selling mystery writer Harlan Coben drops the pen and dons the Fedora to investigate real-life mysteries in this new CBS series. In tonight’s debut episode, Coben uncovers the possible involvement of a CIA agent in the murder of a Tennessee couple. Or, could it be an extreme case of cyber bullying by the next door neighbors?
Abbott Elementary (New episode)
Where to Watch: ABC
When to Watch: 8:30 p.m.
Who’s In It: Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Ralph Lee
The mockumentary comedy featuring everyone’s favorite underfunded Philadelphia public school is back with a new episode (Season five, episode nine). Tonight, the staff must adjust to running the school out of an abandoned shopping mall until the old building is repaired. (Boy, they are underfunded.) Maybe the ghosts of B. Dalton can help out with today’s English class.
The Golden Girls: 40 Years of Laughter
Where to Watch: ABC
When to Watch: 9 p.m.
Who’s In It: Bea Arthur (Dorothy), Betty White (Rose), Rue McClanahan (Blanche), and Estelle Getty (Sophia). – Posthumously.
ABC pays tribute to the classic NBC sitcom that put the ‘old’ in Golden from 1985-1992. Featuring interviews with show creators (Susan Harris) and guest stars (George Clooney, Mario Lopez) – and plenty of clips – The Golden Girls: 40 Years of Laughter offers a retrospective look at how four great actresses used humor to illustrate the importance of independent living for senior citizens.
