Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, Hulu Adding 24 New Releases Tuesday: The 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, Hulu and Disney Plus today (December 30, 2025) are adding 24 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Ricky Gervais: Mortality
Where to Watch: Netflix
Who’s In It: Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais may be the bluntest (and top five funniest) comedian alive today. (And anyone who watched his infamous 2020 Golden Globes speech might be surprised he is alive today.) In this stand-up comedy special, Gervais tackles life’s biggest questions including his own mortality.
NBA Basketball: Pistons at Lakers (10:30 p.m. ET)
Where to Watch: Peacock
Who’s In It: Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham
Peacock tonight will stream a NBA doubleheader with a marvelous matchup in the nightcap with the Detroit Pistons (24-8) visiting the Los Angeles Lakers (20-10). The Motown team, led by Cade Cunningham (26.5 points a game), is atop the Central Division while the Lakers, led by Luka Doncic (33.7 points a game), is leading the Pacific Division. Detroit is a 3-point favorite tonight.
Ready Player One (2018)
Where to Watch: Amazon’s Prime Video
Who’s In It: Tye Sheridan, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Cooke
The Stephen Spielberg-directed sci-fi film stars Tye Sheridan as Wade (pictured above), a teen video game slinger who competes for a huge fortune in a virtual reality world. However, a mega-corporation executive (Ben Mendelsohn) wants the fortune for himself so he tries to kill Wade in the real world. This is not the best Spielberg but even sub-par Spielberg is better than most and no one does sci-fi better than the great auteur. (Spielberg’s much-anticipated UFO film, Disclosure Day, is slated for a June 2026 release.)
