The TV Answer Man = Follow me on X.
Netflix, Hulu, Max, Amazon’s Prime Video, Paramount Plus and Peacock plan to add 59 new releases this week (May 4-10, 2025). Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion.
Poker Face, Season 2 – Peacock Original Series
Release Date: Thursday May 8
Natasha Lyonne stars in this Peacock original comedy/drama about a former casino employee who’s basically a human lie detector; she can spot someone lying lickety split. And using her unique skills, she’s able to solve a murder mystery in 60 minutes or less. Call it a modern day Columbo, Poker Face is a delight thanks to Lyonne’s charming performance, an exceptional lineup of guest stars, and show creator Rian Johnson‘s clever crafting. Season two will include appearances from Awkwafina, Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Gaby Hoffmann, BJ Novak, Carol Kane, Melanie Lynskey, David Alan Grier and the great Margo Martindale , among others. Season one is now available on Peacock. Season two will debut on May 8 with the first three episodes and future installments every Thursday.
Untold: Shooting Guards – Netflix Sports Documentary
Release Date: Tuesday, May 6
Did you know that two players on the Washington Wizards once pointed loaded guns at each other in the locker room? On May 6, Netflix examines the bizarre incident that took place roughly 15 years ago with new interviews with the participants, Javaris Crittenton and Gilbert Arenas. On May 20, the streamer’s Untold series will also tackle the troubled post-NFL life of former Green Bay QB Brett Favre.
Beckham & Friends Live – Paramount Plus
Release Date: Tuesday, May 6
Paramount Plus on May 6 will debut a new soccer-themed talk show with David Beckham hosting. Top celebrities are expected to join the soccer legend.
