The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.
TV Answer Man, the Oscars are on tomorrow night (March 2, 2025) so here is my question for you. Two questions, actually: How can a cord cutter watch it and will it be in 4K online or a cable or satellite service? – Marcy, Hermosa Beach, California.
Marcy, the 97th Academy Awards, also known as The Oscars, will take place tomorrow night (March 2, 2025) from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. If you’re a cord cutter, there are two ways you can tune in without having to subscribe to a cable, satellite or multi-channel live streaming service.
How to Watch Oscars 2025 Without Cable
ABC will broadcast the show starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025. That means you can watch the Oscars with a TV antenna, assuming you live in an area that can receive the signal of your local ABC affiliate. If so, you will not need a multi-channel pay TV subscription such as cable or satellite.
If the antenna might be an issue, Hulu, the subscription Video on Demand service with plans starting at $9.99 a month, will live stream the event. This is the first time that the Oscars will be simulcast on the streamer Hulu.
If you subscribe to a pay TV service that carries ABC, you will also be able to stream it at ABC.com by inputting your pay TV user name and password at the site.
Will There Be a Red Carpet Show?
Yes, ABC will broadcast the Oscars red carpet arrivals starting at 6:30 p.m. ET. Julianne Hough and Jesse Palmer will co-host the show.
Will The Oscars Be Available In 4K?
No. Neither ABC nor Hulu will offer the Oscars broadcast in 4K. It will be in High-Definition.
Who Will Host The Oscars?
Comedian and chat show host Conan O’Brien.
Which Stars Will Present Awards?
The presenter list includes Ana de Armas, Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp, Elle Fanning, Harrison Ford, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Ben Stiller.
Who Will Sing at The Oscars?
Performers expected to sing include Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as well as Doja Cat, Queen Latifah and Raye.
Which Movies Are Up For Best Picture?
The 10 films nominated for Best Picture are:
Anora
The Brutalist

Emilia Pérez
I’m Still Here
