TV Answer Man, do you know if today’s Rams-Eagles or Ravens-Bills game are in 4K? — Bob, Cleveland.
Bob, in round two of the NFL playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams play the Philadelphia Eagles today at 3 p.m. ET while the Baltimore Ravens will face the Buffalo Bills at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Rams-Eagles contest will be on NBC and Peacock while the Ravens-Bills matchup will be on CBS and Paramount Plus.
But will either game be available in 4K, you ask?
Answer: No. Neither NBC or CBS this year (or in past years) are doing NFL games in 4K with the one exception being CBS’ upscaled 4K broadcast of last year’s Super Bowl.
The only network doing NFL playoff games in 4K is Fox, which did yesterday’s Lions-Commanders contest in upscaled 4K. Fox will also do next Sunday’s (January 26) NFC Championship game between the Commanders and the winner of the Eagles-Rams game in upscaled 4K. The game is scheduled at 3 p.m. ET.
By the way, if you want to know why Fox, and nearly every other channel/network, uses upscaled 4K instead of native 4K, see this article.
Bob, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
