The Milwaukee Brewers have signed a one-year deal with Diamond Sports to allow the RSN company’s FanDuel Sports Network to carry the team’s games in market in 2025.
The agreement comes as a surprise because the Brewers announced in October that their games would be carried in market on MLB TV rather than staying with Diamond Sports which broadcast the team’s games in 2024.
“The decision to continue our rights agreement with FanDuel Sports Network ensures that fans will have seamless access to watch the Brewers in 2025, while enjoying the same high-quality productions and roster of on-air talent that fans have enjoyed over the years,” Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers’ president of business operations, said in a press release. “We appreciate the efforts of Major League Baseball in supporting our continued long-term relationship with FanDuel Sports Network and we look forward to what we know will be an exciting year for our fans watching at the ballpark, at home, and on-the-go.”
Diamond Sports, which is expected to soon emerge from a nearly two-year bankruptcy reorganization, will now be the regional TV carrier of 29 MLB, NBA and NHL teams. In addition to the Brewers, the MLB list includes the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels.
Update: Diamond Sports officially emerged from bankruptcy on January 2 and renamed itself, Main Street Sports Group.
Schlesinger said in the release that the FanDuel broadcasts will be available on cable and satellite and a standalone streaming plan available on channel’s app. The standalone plan will not require a separate cable or satellite subscription. The statement said pricing details will be disclosed later.
Diamond Sports announced in November that its FanDuel broadcasts will also be available in market on Amazon’s Prime Video as an add-on subscription. The companies have yet to announce pricing details.
