Looking For a New Streaming Service? Check Out This YouTube TV Deal

TV Answer Man, I’m in the market for a streamer after dropping DIRECTV. Any suggestions? I don’t want to spend too much. — Antawn, Pontiac, Michigan.
Antawn, you can definitely save money switching from satellite TV to streaming TV although you may lose a few channels in the process. DIRECTV’s monthly bill can be too much for some consumers, but it does have a large lineup of premium and basic cable networks.
However, if you’re looking to switch, Sling TV’s base package is just $40 a month (and it offers discounts on the first month.) But Sling TV doesn’t carry ABC in most markets and CBS in any markets. So the best deal, in my humble opinion, is YouTube TV’s offer of $20 off each 0f the first four months of service. That lowers the base price from $72.99 a month to $52.99 a month, an $80 savings.
Note that the discount is only available to customers who are not current YouTube TV base plan subscribers, have not been YouTube TV base plan subscribers nor participated in a YouTube TV base plan trial previously. But if you’re a new YouTube TV customer, it’s a pretty good deal. (Regular monthly rates apply if you don’t cancel prior to the end of the four months.)
Also take note that YouTube TV carries relatively few regional sports channels so that could be a problem if you’re a big sports fan. (It also doesn’t have the MLB Network.) But it does have all the local networks and most basic cable channels. You can also subscribe to the NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube TV at a $85 savings. See this article for more details.
I would also encourage you to carefully peruse the YouTube TV channel lineup before ordering.
Antawn, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!

and as usual, YTTV continues to screw over its loyal existing customers. We never see a discount nor an added, extra benefit. Like most companies these days – they don’t care about existing customers, they only care about new ones.
