Hulu over the weekend added 45 new movies to its streaming lineup.

As with all streamers, many of Hulu’s shows and movies are targeted to younger viewers with stars and plot lines focusing on people in their 20s (or younger). But here at TV For Seniors, we are focused on programming for older viewers who are dealing with a very different set of issues and life memories. So, here are the three best new Hulu movie additions for older Americans, in my humble opinion:

Something’s Gotta Give (2003)
What Kind of Movie: Comedy/Drama
Who’s In It: Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Keanu Reeves
Senior life is front and center in this delightful comedy about two 60somethings (Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton) who find romance in unexpected ways. Old friends (and one-time lovers in real life) Nicholson and Keaton are a joy to watch here as is Keanu Reeves who plays Keaton’s young love interest before Jack enters the field.

Casino (1995)
What Kind of Movie: Crime Drama
Who’s In It: Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone, Don Rickles, James Woods
Director Martin Scorsese’s brilliant cinematic essay on the rise and fall of the Mob-controlled Las Vegas stars Robert De Niro as an obsessive gambler named Ace Rothstein who’s hired to operate a casino. Ace’s master plan is soon derailed by his chorus girl wife (played beautifully by Sharon Stone) and a ruthless sidekick (played deliciously over the top by Joe Pesci.) While some critics chafed that Casino did not measure up to Scorsese’s Goodfellas, the 1995 is an iconic classic on its own.

Jurassic Park (1993)
What Kind of Movie: Adventure/Drama
Who’s In It: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum
Jurassic Park continues to awe and captivate audiences 33 years after its release. And why not? The special effects were groundbreaking and still compare favorably to the latest CGI of today. Director Steven Spielberg skillfully balances wonder and terror, immersing viewers in the marvel of a resurrected prehistoric world while weaving a cautionary tale about the dangers of tampering with nature. (The movie this month offers an extra reason to watch with the recent passing of Sam Neill.)
